The Proud to Be Latina First Annual
Latina Empowerment Conference
On Monday, November 7, 2011 close to 100 Latinas
and Latinos came together for the Proud To Be Latina
Inaugural Empowerment Conference.
and the Latina Golfers Association, the conference aimed
to help Latinas identify self imposed barriers, tap into their
leadership potential, and create a plan of action to move ahead
in their professional and personal lives. Centered around the
theme of Breaking Cycles & Ceilings, the intimate conference
empowered participants to rise up and take their place at the table.
Some highlights of the day included:
- Ivette Mayo who taught us about the "What What" and gave us the opportunity to get to know each other.
- Pegine Echevarria's session was jammed packed with entertainment, excitement and a serious call to action. From making us understand that we are all gems to giving us strategies like "Act As If" and "Baseball Networking", she truly showed us how to PLAY BIG.
- Alicia Morga provided concrete techniques for using our thoughts to control our actions - actions that lead us to create our reality.
- Azucena Maldonado opened our eyes to a new world of golf and encouraged us to "get out there".
Participants also enjoyed specialty items and services from our fabulous vendors Pops Of Heaven; Yo Soy Expressions, Orios Designs and American Laser Skincare.
Down to the detail of the weather, we were in the right place, with the right people. There was so much energy and passion!
